eComicIQ

Terms of Service

Effective August 5, 2026

These terms govern your use of eComicIQ. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

1. What the service does

eComicIQ lets you photograph comic books, identifies them using AI, estimates their market value from marketplace data, and keeps them in an inventory you can export.

2. Valuations are estimates, not appraisals

This is the most important thing on this page, so it is not buried in a paragraph of legal text.

Every price eComicIQ shows is an automated estimate derived from public marketplace listings. It is not a professional appraisal, not a guaranteed sale price, and not financial or investment advice. Comic values move constantly and depend heavily on condition, which we do not independently verify.

Do not rely on eComicIQ as the sole basis for buying, selling, insuring, or valuing a collection. For anything financially significant, get a professional appraisal. You are solely responsible for your own buying and selling decisions.

3. AI identification can be wrong

Identification is automated and will sometimes misread a cover, an issue number, a variant, or a publisher — particularly on damaged, obscured, or unusual books. Check anything that matters before you act on it. We flag low-confidence results where we can, but the absence of a flag is not a guarantee of correctness.

4. Your account

5. Subscription and billing

6. Refunds

If the service does not work as described, contact us and we will sort it out — a refund included. We would rather refund someone than keep money from a customer we failed.

7. Your content

Your photos and your inventory remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to store your images, send them for AI identification, and display them back to you and in listings you choose to publish. We claim no ownership of your content and will not use it for advertising.

You confirm you have the right to photograph and upload what you upload.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use eComicIQ to break the law, infringe someone's rights, upload unlawful content, attack or overload the service, attempt to access another user's data, or resell access. We may suspend accounts that do.

9. Availability

We aim to keep eComicIQ running but do not promise uninterrupted service. It may be briefly unavailable for maintenance, and features it depends on — marketplace data, AI processing — can be disrupted by third parties. We are a small operation and will be straight with you when something is broken.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, eComicIQ is provided "as is". We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, arising from your use of the service — including any decision made in reliance on a valuation or identification. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived by agreement.

11. Ending your subscription

You may cancel or ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms; if we do, we will tell you why. Export your inventory before closing your account, as deletion is permanent.

12. Changes to these terms

We will notify subscribers by email of material changes before they take effect. Continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the revised terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which eComicIQ is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
